
Imani Fairweather Morrison

Imani Fairweather Morrison joined Oak Foundation in January 2005 as Oak Foundation’s Mesoamerica Programme Coordinator. In this position, she facilitated grant-making for marine protected areas management, capacity building, research and monitoring, and policy and advocacy initiatives, among other initiatives in the Mesoamerica region.
Imani is now Programme Officer for Oak’s Global Small Scale Fisheries Sub-programme. In this position, she is designing and implementing a strategy for supporting the scaling up of efforts to better manage coastal small scale fisheries through a stronger elevation of the FAO guidelines on sustainable small scale fisheries in the global agenda, leveraging financing to the field and empowerment and capacity building of network of fishers organisation so that they can be active change agents in the management of resources on which their livelihoods depend. Until the Summer of 2020, she served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Consultative Group on Biological Diversity which is a learning network for funders interested in collaborating on biodiversity conservation issues.
