Moriah Byrd

Marine Pathways Intern

Moriah is a graduating senior at Savannah State University majoring in Marine Sciences with a minor in Applied Math. Within her university, she has been active in research projects to develop the understanding of biological movement within the Gulf Stream. In the past, Moriah has also worked at the Georgia Aquarium and the University of Georgia Marine Extension and Sea Grant to explore her passion for marine life. Recently, she has begun researching and engaging in ways to understand how communities are engaged in marine science and conservation. Moriah’s career goal is to increase community participation and rights within marine research, conservation, and policy. In her free time, Moriah loves reading, playing soccer, and making ocean related art.
