The Ocean Foundation is proud to partner with Marriott International, a global leader in sustainability. Marriott has partnered with TOF on a pilot project to sustainably harvest sargassum at sea and repurpose it for organic compost fertilizer in the Dominican Republic. This project addresses several hazards for coastal communities, namely the loss of biodiversity such as the extinction of species and habitats, sandy shores degradation, and the loss of the marine ecosystem such as seagrass meadows, mangrove forests, corals and marshes.
