As designers and innovators, customers look to the company for ideas and information. The Tiffany & Co. Foundation aims to be seen as environmental stewards by obtaining precious materials in ways that are socially and environmentally responsible.
In 2008, The Tiffany & Co. Foundation awarded a grant to The Ocean Foundation to support TOF’s role in advancing the Too Precious to Wear campaign launched with SeaWeb. The communications-based campaign utilized media attention to promote coral awareness and conservation. Through partnership with the jewelry, fashion and home decor industries, Too Precious to Wear fostered public awareness of coral protection in order to shift consumption trends and improve coral policy. By supporting the Too Precious to Wear campaign, The Tiffany & Co. Foundation sought to encourage others in the fashion and design industries to discontinue the use of real coral in jewelry and home decor.
