Adaptation Based on Coastal Ecosystems, lower basin of the municipality of Tuxpan, Veracruz and Celestún, Yucatán

INECC collaboration in research projects

The Ocean Foundation worked with partners to author the development of a prioritization and monitoring scheme for mangroves in the locations of Tuxpan, Veracruz and Celestún, Yucatán. This report can help accelerate the implementation of the adaptation component of the Mexican Nationally Determined Contribution committed in 2020. This initiative was convened and organized by the World Resources Institute (WRI Mexico) and TOF, within the framework of the Climate Action Improvement Package (CAEP). Funding came from the NDC Partnership, and technical support was provided by the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC) and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT).
