More than halfway into 2023, Plastics Initiative Program Officer Erica Nuñez has been continually attending panels, events, and discussions both large and small around a global plastics treaty. But the fight has been even greater than just a treaty: Erica also knows both the privilege and responsibility that comes with being able to be a voice in spaces that have – more often than not – dismissed, demeaned, and disrespected BIPOC and marginalized groups.
