Ali Holton 

Development Manager

Ali Holton joined The Ocean Foundation as the Development Manager within the External Relations Team. Beginning her career as a marine rehabilitation and conservation biologist, protecting the ocean and all its inhabitants has always held a special place in her heart. She collectively has over 20 years in the nonprofit world working at various marine organizations such as Mote Marine, The Florida Aquarium, and for the Sarasota Sea Turtle Protection Program. She has additionally spent the last decade in fundraising and development. Ali specializes in new business cultivation, relationship building, conservation outreach, and passion-driven storytelling. She is excited to strengthen and support a dynamic team and organization that is dedicated to preserving ocean environments around the world.

Ali is originally from Boston with strong ocean roots with her family hailing from the Island of Bermuda. She now resides in Florida where in 2012, she founded a 501c3 Animal Rescue in the Tampa Bay Area. She writes a monthly column for a local newspaper on wildlife education and sits on various educational and advisory boards in her community. In her free time, she can be found traveling, exploring, and fostering kittens, puppies, and orphaned wildlife.

Ali holds an MSc in Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health from the University of Edinburgh and a BS in Environmental Science and Policy with a focus on Marine Biology from the University of South Florida.
