Jason K. Babbie

As the Vice President of Programs & Climate Solutions Director at Confluence Philanthropy, Jason serves on the Management Team. He provides strategic guidance on all programming and leads the Climate Solutions Collaborative. Jason is passionate about simultaneously solving our triple crises – climate change, racial inequity, and economic disparity – and is committed to convening key stakeholders to identify and build equitable solutions.

Jason comes to Confluence with over 25 years of experience in the environmental field. Most recently, he served as the Deputy for Impact and Integration in the Climate Strategy Office of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). While at NRDC, Jason led strategic program integration and new project development, created metrics to meet strategic goals, oversaw processes to embed equity into programming, fundraised, and managed budgets and staff. Jason also designed and managed the Vibrant Oceans Initiative and domestic components of the Sustainable Cities Initiative at Bloomberg Philanthropies, served as the Membership Services Program Director at the Environmental Grantmakers Association, and directed a variety of successful environmental issue campaigns in New York State.

Jason holds a MA in Environmental Policy from Brown University and BS in Environmental Studies, concentrating on Policy and Management from the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry/Syracuse University.
