Our Mission:
“Race to Zero” is a feature documentary film that delves into the world of marine carbon dioxide removal, following ocean scientists and engineers as they conduct experiments at sea to better understand the ocean’s power to pull carbon from the atmosphere.
Our Impact:
While marine-based climate solutions have been gaining attention, now is the time to increase the effort to rebalance our atmosphere utilizing ocean-based climate solutions. The film team will be shooting on research vessels and in US-based labs over the course of the next year. With fires, floods and more climate impacts on the rise, it is imperative that we tell the stories of ocean-based climate change solutions, to raise awareness and hopefully interest in this important realm of marine science.
Our Activities:
The “Race to Zero” production team is filming now at three different locations where scientists endeavor to test the safety, effectiveness and scalability of ocean-based climate change solutions. The team conducts research and interviews, films on ships, on land and by drone in the sky, to capture the story in a visually compelling way. They hope to edit short cuts to share at international meetings to further raise awareness about the potential of marine scientists from around the world to protect us all.
